It’s a story about a farm girl who flirts with ecoterrorism after dreaming she’s a goat. That’s my one liner. It’s also a philosophical novel in the spirit of Ishmael that explores our relationships with animals. Finally, it’s a boundary object designed to change the world by emancipating information architecture.
I expect this project will take a few years, but I’m already confident of success. I don’t mean it will be a bestseller. I have no idea whether folks will read my book. I mean I’m having fun. I was scared to start, but once I did, I learned writing fiction puts me in a state of flow. It’s like whitewater kayaking: surprising, exhilarating, joyful.
I feel lucky to be living among and writing about animals. We share Barefoot Farm with cats, dogs, chickens, goats, cows, foxes, coyotes, bears; all sources of love and wisdom.
Anyways, I miss y’all and wanted to let you know what I’m up to. While I work on the novel, I’ll take breaks for consulting but not conferences. I hope to get back to public speaking when my book is done. Until then, best wishes to you and your furry friends.
