It’s been a cathartic year for the information architecture community. In the wake of the dissolution of the IA Institute, grief and sorrow linger, yet even now there are signs of new life arising from the ashes. Volunteers are working hard to ensure that both the Information Architecture Conference and World IA Day survive and thrive, and that’s where you come in. If you care about the community, now is the time to do your part.
As a newborn 501(c)(3) public charity, World IA Day, Inc. needs to raise $6,000 to achieve stability. This will cover operational expenses for the next two years. I trust (and am inspired by) the people who are leading this organization, and I believe in this community, so I am contributing $1,000. I hope you will join me by donating today. In addition to helping the organization financially, each gift tells the organizers we care.
If you’d rather give time than money, please become an ally or nominate yourself (or a friend) to serve on the board or a committee. This is a rare opportunity to be involved at the beginning. Let’s build a better future together. Let’s help a phoenix rise. Cheers!
