Foxes and Arrows

In writing Intertwingled I wanted to design the illustrations myself, and to show that information architects must go beyond boxes and arrows (and wireframes). But my sketching looks like chicken scratch. So, I stuck with Omnigraffle, and also embraced the lovely icons of The Noun Project. Here are the illustrations from the first chapter.

The classic predator-prey relationship.

Figure 1-1. The classic predator-prey relationship.

I had a lot of fun creating these “sketches” and hope you enjoy them. Eventually, I’ll share all the Intertwingled illustrations, but right now I don’t want to spoil the story.
